Notice under The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012

On  the 6 July 2021 the County Council intends to hold a meeting of the Lead Member for Resources and Climate Change at which the following item will be considered: Transfer of freehold of the Cuckoo Trail.

The purpose of the item is:

Transfer of that part of the Cuckoo Trail that is held freehold by East Sussex County Council to Wealden District Council subject to due diligence.

Under the requirements of Regulation 9 of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 the Council is required to give 28 days notice of a key decision identified within the scope of these regulations. It is considered that item referred to above would be a key decision and for the reasons of urgency outlined below, compliance is considered impracticable, and an exception to Regulation 9 is therefore sought under Regulation 10 of the above Regulations. It is considered impracticable to comply with the requirements of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 because:

Delaying the decision until the publication of the next forward plan and scheduled meeting of the Lead Member for Resources and Climate Change would not allow sufficient time to complete the transfer to Wealden District Council. It is therefore considered impracticable to defer the decision until it can been included in the next forward plan.

 

 

 

Accordingly a copy of this notice shall be available pursuant to Regulation 5(6) for at least 5 clear days prior to 6 Jul 2021.
